The following learning outcomes will be assessed:
Knowledge
1. A critical understanding of the major project management methodologies and tools together with their suitability for different project types
2. Appreciation of how to combine elements from each methodology/tool to produce effective solutions
Skills
1. The ability to develop, evaluate and assess the feasibility of project proposals, utilising appropriate tools, techniques and methods
2. The ability to apply appropriate methods of planning, monitoring, control and change to the various aspect of a project.
Important Information
You are required to submit your work within the bounds of the University Infringement of Assessment Regulations (see your Programme Guide). Plagiarism, paraphrasing and downloading large amounts of information from external sources, will not be tolerated and will be dealt with severely. Although you should make full use of any source material, which would normally be an occasional sentence and/or paragraph (referenced) followed by your own critical analysis/evaluation. You will receive no marks for work that is not your own. Your work may be subject to checks for originality which can include use of an electronic plagiarism detection service.
Where you are asked to submit an individual piece of work, the work must be entirely your own. The safety of your assessments is your responsibility. You must not permit another student access to your work.
Where referencing is required, unless otherwise stated, the Harvard referencing system must be used (see your Programme Guide).
Please ensure that you retain a duplicate of your assignment. We are required to send samples of student work to the external examiners for moderation purposes. It will also safeguard in the unlikely event of your work going astray.

The Assignment
This assignment is based on the CET311 group case study project: ‘E-Solutions’. Your assignment must address the various project management issues encountered by the group of which you were a member. Furthermore, there should be a critical discussion of the various project management concepts applied to the group project. For example areas to consider feasibility, planning, quality, risk monitoring and control as well as theories associated with project team group work. The assignment must be presented as a report utilising section headings and numbers with an introduction, main body with more than one section and a conclusion completed in 2500 words (plus or minus 10%). The Harvard Reference System must be used for all relevant references.
Note : This is an individual assignment and not a group assignment.
The assignment should have the following sections.
1. A critical evaluation of the aspects of how your group was organised for the management of the project. Theories related to group workMUST be included in the discussion. This should NOT just be a description of events. This section should be approximately 750 words.
2. A critical appraisal and discussion evaluating the whole project from project start to close with specific focus on the project management concepts introduced in the module. This
MUST be related to the ‘E-Solutions’ group case study. This section should be approximately 1500 words.
3. An appendix MUST contain the following:
1. A precedence chart based on the first set of information.
2. An ‘on-arrow’ diagram based on the precedence chart in ‘1’ above.
3. A printout of your team’s baseline Gantt chart
4. A printout of your team’s appropriately tracked closeout Gantt chart.
5. A single sheet detailing your supplier/contractor selection criteria.
6. Your final financial statement for the project closeout.
Each Gantt chart should be clearly identified by a title; be easily readable and fit onto a single page of landscape A4 paper.
Further Information
The report must be printed in Times New Roman, font size 12pt, single spaced and printed single sided on A4 paper and stapled in the top left-hand corner.
