of a hybrid mobile application
2. Understanding of tools and techniques used in the analysis, design
and development of hybrid mobile applications
Skills

hybrid mobile application
2. Apply UXD design and test techniques for a hybrid mobile

Scenario
You recently applied for an internship with a multimedia development
company and submitted a response to a ‘design brief’. You created a
basic prototype using Adobe XD and sample application.
Today you open your email account and have received a response from
the company:
From: Multimedia Team
To: Applicant
Hi,
Thanks for sending us your response to the ‘creative
brief’ we set last month.
Our development team had a tough job of reviewing all
the submissions, but we were really pleased to see
the range and quality of the work submitted!
We hope the feedback we sent you was useful. It was
clear that applicants spent many hours refining their
applications and ensuring a good user experience,
good use of UI controls and high quality images. This
is exactly the sort of thing we’re after, we want
people that can work to solve problems, justify
design choices, work with users and produce
imaginative, creative designs...and use industry
tools and techniques.
We were interested to hear about the back-end work
you have been doing using Node, Express, qUnit and
GIT. All important technologies.
With that in mind, we’d like to you to create a small
application that demonstrates some of these
technologies, which we would like you to present via
a screencast presentation.
Here’s the project:
A local surfing and snowboarding company has asked
for a mobile friendly web app to be created, that
allows customers to browse their catalogue of
surfboards and snowboards.
Create a mobile friendly web browser application that
that allows users to browse the ‘surfboard/snowboard’
database and add customer reviews.
Here’s a quick diagram of the app we’d like you to
create.
As a minimum, add 5 boards to the database, include
images and appropriate text.
To make it easier for the development team to review
your work, we’d like you to create a short a short
screencast, demonstrating the application in use. Be
sure to show us the client application, the API
running and the console running the node server.
We look forward to reviewing your application. Our
development team will use the attached marksheet to
provide some feedback. Good luck.

Please ensure you submit all of your code and a screencast of your
application running. This must show the developer tools and the HTTP
requests back and forth to the Node server (network tab)
